Hatching Conspiracies against Dr. Rajan Mahtani, again

Dr. Rajan Mahtani, the Finance Bank Zambia Chairman has been consistently in the news for various reasons. There are days when there is something good about his company’s performance and then, there are days when the conspirators take the burden of framing conspiracy against him and blame him for the events in which he was never involved. Recently, an article talked about Dr. Mahtani bribing Joyce Banda (former President of Malawi) for gaining access to banking market in Malawi. This is one of those news where the conspirators have ‘again’ taken the burden of portraying one ordinary event in such a manner where it appears to be villainous.

The article talks about Dr. Mahtani offering personal benefits to Joyce Banda worth US $ 180 million. However, when one learns that these benefits compromise of a bio thermal plant (worth US $ 150 million) and a loan (worth $30 million) for project fuelling, one just simply cannot stop laughing. A bio thermal plant is constructed for the purpose of benefitting the nation and not an individual. Though the conspirators have worked very hard to find something to defame Dr. Mahtani, they have failed miserably to make it sound like an act of evil.

Another amusing fact about this article is that it talks about obtaining permission through material benefits. Sadly, the conspirators have, once again, failed to realize that if Dr. Mahtani was interested in bribing authorities to seek permission then it wouldn’t have been the ex-President but the Reserve Bank of Malawi, because they reserve the power to qualify a foreign bank into Malawi.
