Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani recently received an extremely shocking and unreal news when a Facebook post started making rounds at the social media platforms. This social media post was shared by none other than Miriam Mwanawasa, the daughter of late ex-President of Zambia, Levy Mwanawasa. In this Facebook post, Miriam Mwanawasa claimed that Dr. Rajan Mahtani unethically wanted to take over the farm land at the Masaiti District which is currently the property of the Mwanawasa family.
Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has maintained a long-standing personal as well as professional relationship with the Mwanawasa family over many decades. As a result, it was extremely shocking and disheartening to see her daughter making such ludicrous claims. To give a befitting reply to this claim, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani released a press statement. In this press statement, Dr. Rajan Mahtani clearly stated that he maintained a transparent and ethical professional and personal relationship with Levy Mwanawasa over many years and this friendship remained despite Levy Mwanawasa becoming Zambia’s president. Furthermore, Dr. Mahtani also said that he did not have any such conversation or intention of owning the land which belonged to the Mwanawasa family.
As such, sharing such posts without having any evidence was ludicrous and defamatory and impacted the reputation of an honest businessman. Dr. Mahtani said that he will take actions against this unethical act.
