Death Penalty To Be Completely Abolished Announces President Hakainde

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a noted businessman, philanthropist and charity worker in Zambia. He is known for his successful business ventures like Mahtani Group of Companies and Finsbury Investments among others. He is also known for his philanthropic and charitable contributions. Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s interview excerpt recently appeared on the ‘Mast Newspaper’ in which Dr. Mahtani praised the latest decision made by the Zambian President. On the occasion of Africa Day, President Hakainde Hichilema announced that he is planning to completely eradicate the inhumane, degrading and cruel practice of death penalty or capital punishment. President Hakainde’s announcement received widespread support and Dr. Rajan Mahtani also supported his vision saying that his organization Prison Fellowship Zambia (PFZ) will provide all sorts of legal and regulatory support for this decision. Prison Fellowship is a noted Christian Outreach Program that was established more than thirty years ago. The objective of this outreach program is to bring the teachings of Almighty Jesus Christ to the prisoners, ex-prisoners as well as their families in Zambia. The outreach program also focuses on providing transparent criminal justice for the prisoners along with ensuring that they are given basic human dignity and are not devoid of fundamental human rights.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani further stated that there is a growing awareness across the globe regarding the complete abolishment of the death penalty and this can be seen in Zambia too. Dr. Rajan Mahtani further iterated that his company Prison Fellowship has been able to transform the lives of several inmates who are now completely dedicated to the services of the gods. While praising the decision from the Zambian President, Dr. Mahtani highlighted that even though the practice of the death penalty or capital punishment is tactically avoided by Presidents, none of these past presidents have actually worked towards eradicating the issue from its core. As such, the decision from the current Zambian President is a step in the right direction.
