Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a noted businessman and philanthropist in Zambia. For more than three decades, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been working towards building businesses and companies solely for the development and growth of the Zambian nation. A major difference between Dr. Mahtani and majority of the businesses in a developing and often corruption-ridden economy of Zambia is his work ethic. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, in his entire business career, has strived for ethical, transparent and honest business practices.
Dr. Rajan Mahtani is continuously working towards developing his companies as well as serving the Zambian nation with his philanthropic and charitable activities. As such, it can be said that Dr. Mahtani and the late Kenneth Kaunda shared several traits together. Sadly, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda recently left us for heaven. It was certainly a great loss for the entire Zambia. Dr. Kenneth Kaunda was known to Zambia as the ‘Father of the nation and African Union’ and also the Independence Hero of Zambia. He became the first ever President of Zambia and served the nation towards its development and growth.
In a similar manner, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been continuously working towards the betterment of the Zambian nation. In fact, late Lekhraj Mahtani, father of Dr. Rajan Mahtani, was a Councillor at Ndola and provided significant support and collaboration to Dr. Kenneth Kaunda in his fight for independence. This trait is carried out by Dr. Rajan Mahtani too with his companies dedicated towards uplifting the social and economic status of the provinces with employment opportunities and community services as well as with his philanthropic and charitable engagements. It can be said that Dr. Mahtani is a true believer of Dr. Kaunda and his philosophies and strives to continue his legacy of unity, transparency and integrity.
The sad demise of Dr. Kenneth Kaunda was shared by Dr. Rajan Mahtani in his eulogy via his company Mahtani Group of Companies and urged Zambians to follow his legacy too.
