Entrepreneurial Spirit Of Dr. Mahtani Fetches Forbes Business Award

Forbes business, a top business magazine across Africa, recently concluded its annual ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony along with the Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) roundtable conference. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist, was invited in the business conference as a honorary speaker. Furthermore, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also selected as one of the awardees in the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards ceremony. For his significant contributions towards Zambian economy and redefining the banking sector of Zambia, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was awarded with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award for 2021. It was a great honour to receive this award considering Forbes being one of the top business magazines across the globe. Furthermore, the value of these awards increases many folds due to the rigorous and transparent recipient selection process. This selection process comprises of months of background checks, verifications and interviews with the potential awardees regarding their views on business leadership as well as philanthropy as a means for long-term empowerment of the African nation.

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is the founder and current Chairman of Mahtani Group, an organization he started in 1981. Since then, the company has grown to become one of the top conglomerates across Zambia and Africa, expanding to various sectors including insurance, mining, financial services, energy, real estate and agriculture. Furthermore, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also recognised for his philanthropic contributions. Dr. Rajan Mahtani founded the Prison Fellowship Zambia, a program affiliated to the PFI (Prison Fellowship International) in Washington which focusses on the welfare and fair criminal justice procedures for ex-inmates, inmates as well as their families. Furthermore, Dr. Rajan Mahtani also contributed to the education sector with the establishment of Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
