With more than nine years of wait, the judgment for Zambezi Portland Cement is finally nearing. The scenario from both campaigns is clear. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, who has been waiting for this judgment for a long time is now finally cheerful. On the other hand, the Ventriglias have a grim face with the announcement. The judgment currently handling this case announced that the case hearing is closed. This means no more case proceedings and arguments. Both parties have been given timeline till December 2017 to submit their oral and written submissions. After evaluating these submissions, the court will provide its final judgment. The finalization of court hearing has been hailed as a milestone by the judge and both parties have been commended for their patience during the long tenure of the case.

Rajan-Mahtani

The case was initially launched by Dr. Rajan Mahtani under his company’s name, Finsbury Investments against the Ventriglias who had illegally captured the Zambezi Portland Cement factory. Later, the Ventriglias launched a counterclaim stating that Dr. Mahtani did not pay for the shares he owns at the factory. However, the Ventriglias have not been able to submit any proper evidence to support their claims. On the other hand, Dr. Mahtani and his team have submitted numerous evidence and statements clearly stating his 58 percent shares on the factory. Financial exhibits shared by him also proved that his company Finsbury invested more than USD 8 million dollars on the factory’s growth and development. Furthermore, independent audit reports have identified the factory as a joint venture enterprise with Dr. Mahtani as the joint venture partner and no other party or individual having the same authority.

With the final date of judgment nearing, it can be said that Dr. Mahtani and his team are definitely the stronger side with higher chances of winning the case and getting back their rightful ownership over the factory.
