The ownership of Portland Cement Zambia has been a question which has remained unanswered from almost a decade now. However, with some analysis and traits, it is not difficult to find the real owner of the factory. It is a well-known fact that actions speak louder than words and the same can be implemented here to find out the truth!
To being with, we take Finsbury Investment, an organization which has Dr. Rajan Mahtani has one of its core pillars. Finsbury Investments had taken care of Portland Cement Zambia from till March 2015 and during this phase it was observed that the factory was going from strength to strength. In December 2014, a major milestone was achieved when it was declared that PCZ has produced an excess of 100000 tonnes of cement than its forecasted output. Sadly, the happy story was soon spoiled by the other party, the Ventriglias.
The Ventriglias got their deportation orders lifted under mysterious circumstances and made a comeback in 2015 after former President of Zambia Michael Sata passed away. Since then, they have treated the factory cashbox as their own pocket and have made ridiculous expenses. The bank account of the factory was immediately shifted offshore and all the money was now being received outside of Zambia. Within a matter of 8 months, the factory stopped its production and a majority of the workers were dismissed. Today, the condition of Portland Cement Zambia has become such that there is nothing left in it. Moreover, the damage which the Ventriglias have caused would require millions of dollars to be restored.
Under such discussion, what can one make out? Who is the actual owner of the Portland Cement Zambia? Is it the Ventriglias who have looted the factory or is it Finsbury Investment, who nurtured the factory to become Zambia’s biggest cement producer!
