Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a known name across Zambia. He has been a citizen of Zambia for many decades and has established successful businesses here. He is also a major contributor of the Zambian economy. Most of his institutions are built with the objective of economic and social welfare of the society. Some of his firms such as the Portland Cement Zambia have provided livelihood opportunities as well as economic upliftment across the provinces where the factories have been established. His businesses are also known to have a clean and honest reputation. Finance Bank Zambia is one of the institutions that were founded by Dr. Mahtani. With objective of serving the people of Zambia, the bank quickly became popular among industry goers as well as the common people.
Even if an organization has always maintained a clean and honest reputation, any negative rumor can be detrimental. Especially for institutions such as banks, those run on delicate reputation. Simaata Simaata is one of the notorious personalities of Zambia. He is characterized by excessive jealousy and conspiracy in all his endeavors. He was employed with Finance Bank for a brief period and ousted from the bank after involving in unethical practices. He had also signed an agreement with the bank for which he was paid a good amount. However, he broke the agreement terms by spreading negative rumors about the bank as well as Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Since these rumors were spread as testimonials at courts of law, it proved to be detrimental for the bank. Finance Bank was left with no choice than to sue Simaata at the Supreme Court Zambia.
Finance Bank Zambia and its well-wishers expected an honest judgement from the highest court of Zambia. And they were not disappointed with Simaata was charged guilty of the charges against him. He was also asked to pay fine for the ethical practices. He will be monitored by the government so that he does not involve in further similar acts in future.
