The Zambezi Portland Cement Factory has faced hostility in the past one and half months. Right after April 7 2015, the Ventriglias have taken mismanagement and corruption to a whole new level as they took over the flourishing cement plant with the help of bandit goons. Today, the scenario at ZPC full of chaos and upset. On one hand, the factory cash box is being emptied and on the other hand, the workers are not being paid salary.
The only activity which is being carried dutifully at the premise of ZPC is transfer of money from the factory to the private accounts of the Ventriglia family. Apart from this activity, there is no scope of development in the factory and the existing workers continue to think about their uncertain future.
Zambia Reports, an integral part of the Ventriglias’ online presence continues to publish stories which try to enforce that the workers are happy and the management is executing its task on time. But the truth is totally the opposite. Every worker in the ZPC is waiting for a better tomorrow where they can receive their salary on time, get respected by their employers and can be assured that their family will not starve for days. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, the Chairman of Finance Bank earlier gave these workers a dream and today the same has been shattered by the Ventriglia family.
