A sad event has occurred in Zambia with the demise of Mrs Mohnibhai Lekhraj Mahtani, the mother of Dr. Rajan Mahtani. When it comes to determining one of the most influential philanthropists in Zambia, the name of Mrs Mohnibhai Lekhraj Mahtani is placed in the top-most positions. However, her life was away from the limelight and believed in living a simple life and helping the poor.
She bid farewell to this world on June 15 2016 in United Kingdom. The event also witnessed condolences from personalities such as the First President of Zambia and Deputy Governor.
Every mortal has to leave this world on someday. However, one thing that remains forever is the work done by them during their lifetime. Being a person with a heart of gold, Mrs Mohinibhai Lekhraj Mahtani served as a pillar for Dr. Rajan Mahtani and supported him throughout. Her efforts to serve the society can never go unnoticed. Always having a smile on her face and motivation in heart, she has managed to help many.
One factor that distinguishes her from others is willingness to be in the limelight. Irrespective of the work done by her, she was never found to be in the news because she believed in working for society and staying away from publicity. Her objective was simple- make life better for all. To fulfil this objective, she has always ensured that she remains close to the people who need help.
Zambia has lost one of its greatest personalities. She was a symbol of power empowerment and has always worked with a view to improve the existing condition in Zambia. Needless to say, in her absence Zambia will miss the touch of a mother.
