Portland Cement Zambia and the horror story

Portland Cement Zambia, a cement producing unit which was established with a view to strengthen the economy and offer the locals with an opportunity to find work has now become a serious concern for Zambia. Ever since the factory has been operating under the Ventriglias, it has been observed that there has been numerous accounts of mismanagement and oppression.

To focus on the list of events, first of all the Ventriglias started to eliminate the existing work force whereby the problem of unemployment in Ndola started to rise once again. Then within the next few months there were fake companies being formed in which assets of the factory such as trucks and factory lease paper were being channelized to other entities. The shocking part of this incident was that the owners of those outsourced companies are the Ventriglias themselves.

There were plenty of actions which took place in Portland Cement Zambia in the past one year. Right from asset mismanagement to forcing changes in the records of the PACRA. Yes, in 2015 the lawyer of the Ventriglia family had also attempted to make changes in the official records by replacing the name of Dr. Rajan Mahtani and Finsbury Investments from the list of owners. However, the issue was caught red-handed and the authority had to restore the existing information after dismissing the cheap attempt.

To conclude, one can regard that the Ventriglia family have made their comeback in Zambia with a view to take revenge of the deportation in 2012. They have not only managed to disrupt the prevailing peace of the nation, but have also destroyed the life of thousands of families. The innocent workers lost their jobs and are now waiting for justice along with Finsbury Investment and Dr. Rajan Mahtani. The horror story simply points at the failure of the legal bodies to preserve the interest of its own people.
