Every time there is something good done by an individual or an entity, there are tens of people who will come forward to disclaim or dishonor the work. These people are essentially lechers trying to ruin the reputation of good people and hoping to extract the welfare of others for their own profits. Zambians are very much aware of Dr. Rajan Mahtani and his companies. He has been a resident of Zambia for many decades and considers the nation as his hometown. Companies like Portland Cement and Finance Bank are prime examples proving that he always puts Zambian communities before business. While Dr. Mahtani has always remain undisturbed of the constant allegations and defamation campaigns, there are times when the conspirators cross the limit and he is forced to take stringent actions against these conspirators.
Finance Bank had sued Simaata Simaata for illegally breaking the contract terms signed between the two. Simaata received a good sum for signing the agreement. It is a well known fact that Simaata was removed from Finance Bank after involving in unethical practices. However, the unethical practices were continued and with the aim of revenge and jealousy, Simaata went ahead to testify across various courts against the Bank as well as Dr. Mahtani. He also released sensitive statements to local newspapers which resulted in the loss of reputation for the bank. As a result, Finance Bank registered a case against Simaata at the Supreme Court of Zambia seeking justice.
The results of the court are known to all. Simaata was charged guilty of the charges made by the bank. Apart from being watched over by the law and authorities, he will be paying fine for his wrongdoing. Also, Finance Bank will receive full reimbursement of the case expenses. While it is hard to say that the conspirators are going to keep down forever, this win is definitely a lesson for them to think twice before launching any maligning campaign against Dr. Mahtani.
