Recently, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was awarded with one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards category. Dr. Mahtani is a noted businessman and philanthropist in Zambia. He is known for his successful business empire along with several top ventures and companies. Some of his top companies are Mahtani Group of Companies and Finsbury Investments. The Mahtani Group is among the top conglomerates across Zambia as well as Africa. The company had a humble beginning and quickly rose to become one of the top conglomerates with presence across Zambia, Malawi, South Africa as well as many international locations. In a similar manner, Mahtani Group has presence across several sectors such as mining, agriculture, energy, insurance, real estate and several others. Across all these sectors, Dr. Mahtani made contributions in areas like livelihood and employment opportunities as well as enhancing the overall standards of the sector.
In a similar manner, the philanthropic and charitable contributions by Dr. Rajan Mahtani have been significant. Dr. Rajan Mahtani founded the Prison Fellowship Zambia and is the present Chairman of the program. The PFZ is a program affiliated by the Prison Fellowship International (PFI), Washington. This program focusses on providing justice and welfare opportunities for the inmates, ex-inmates as well as their families. In a similar manner, Dr. Rajan Mahtani founded the Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia. The award comes with a significant scholarship that provides financial support for the hardworking and deserving law graduates.
All these contributions were finally recognised by Forbes, the international magazine brand that presents the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award. For his contributions towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was conferred with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani accepted the award in a humble manner.
