Every time we see an individual rise in business, there are always a bunch of haters who are just jealous and conspire against them. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is among the most respected individuals across Zambia. He has more than 30 years of business experience and has built an empire with honesty and integrity. Yet, we can see slew of conspirators trying to portray him as a villain. One such conspirator is Zambia Reports. Zambia Reports has always tried to portray Dr. Mahtani as a criminal. Every now and then, ZR comes up with stories creating their own versions of incidents happening around and publishes them for misleading people. People of Zambia are certainly tired to these nuisances. But will it ever end?
A recent event that motivated Zambia Reports to publish another defamation article against Dr. Mahtani was nowhere related to him. BancABC, current owner of Finance Bank Zambia made a call to Lamsaat for loan repayment. This call was made as Lamsaat started defaulting on its loan repayment process. If a loan amount is worth USD 10,000,000, any bank will become cautious and will take action against the defaulted. The same happened with BancABC. However, Zambia Reports had to meddle with a peaceful banking process. ZR took the story and twisted it completely, making it more of a personal agenda and less of a truthful story. In their article, Zambia Reports claimed that the call for repayment was actually on orders of Dr. Rajan Mahtani. They went on further saying that Finance Bank was still secretly operated by Dr. Rajan Mahtani. The news was immediately scrapped by locals and fellow journalists alike.
No doubt, the financers and handlers of Zambia Reports provided this script and all ZR had to do are publishing it with blind eye. Even after receiving backlash from its won colleagues from Journalism industry as well as local bodies, no action has been taken against the notorious news channel. For now, we can just sit and focus on our work and not deal with the nuisances of the biggest conspirators of Zambia.
